United Airlines Suspends Tel Aviv Flights Amid Security Concerns

United Airlines has announced a temporary suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv, citing growing regional tensions and heightened security concerns. The airline stated that it is “closely monitoring the situation” and will determine the resumption of service based on future developments and safety evaluations.

The decision affects United’s regular route between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV). According to company officials, passenger safety remains the airline’s top priority.

“Due to the evolving situation in the region, we are suspending our Tel Aviv operations until further notice,” a United spokesperson said. “We are working directly with affected customers and offering alternate travel options or refunds.”

The move follows increased hostilities in the region, including a ballistic missile strike that targeted central Israel this weekend, prompting a broader reassessment of international flight safety in the area.

Other international airlines are also reportedly evaluating their routes to and from Israel. United previously resumed service to Tel Aviv earlier this year after a temporary suspension during the October conflict, making this a second major disruption in under 12 months.

No timeline was provided for when the flights might resume, but United emphasized that it will continue to update passengers as the situation develops.
