Full Destruction: Israeli Airstrikes Wipe Out Yemen’s Sanaa Airport

On May 6, 2025, Israeli airstrikes struck Sanaa International Airport in Yemen, following a missile attack by Houthi rebels on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. The Israeli military had issued warnings for civilians to evacuate the area prior to the strikes.

The Houthi rebels, aligned with Iran, have been conducting missile and drone attacks against Israel, citing solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The recent missile strike near Tel Aviv marked a significant escalation, prompting Israel’s retaliatory measures.

The airstrikes reportedly caused substantial damage to Sanaa International Airport, including the destruction of the control tower and runway. The airport, which had resumed limited operations in 2022 after years of conflict-related closures, now faces indefinite suspension of services.

According to Houthi sources, the strikes resulted in at least four deaths and 39 injuries. The damage to critical infrastructure raises concerns about the delivery of humanitarian aid in a country already facing severe crises.

The international community has expressed concern over the escalating violence and its impact on civilians. Calls for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts have been made to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
