Brad Arnold, lead singer of the American rock band 3 Doors Down, has announced that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that has spread to his lungs. The diagnosis was shared via an emotional Instagram video on May 7, 2025.
Arnold, 46, revealed that he sought medical attention after feeling unwell and was subsequently diagnosed with the advanced cancer. Despite the severity of his condition, he expressed a positive outlook, stating, “We serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything. So I have no fear.”
As a result of Arnold’s health condition, 3 Doors Down has canceled their upcoming summer tour, which was scheduled to begin on May 15 in Daytona Beach, Florida. The band was set to co-headline with Creed for select shows.
In his message, Arnold referenced the band’s 2008 hit “It’s Not My Time,” stating that the song now holds personal significance for him. He asked fans for their prayers and support during this challenging time.
The announcement has prompted an outpouring of support from fans and fellow musicians. Creed frontman Scott Stapp commented, “If anyone has the FAITH and STRENGTH to face this fight, it’s YOU, brother.” Chris Daughtry also shared words of encouragement, stating, “Sending you love my brother.”
