Back to the Grind: Musk Revives Round-the-Clock Work Schedule

Elon Musk has announced a return to his intensive “24/7” work routine across his companies—X (formerly Twitter), Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI—after a significant global outage affected the social media platform X. The disruption, which impacted tens of thousands of users worldwide, was attributed to a fire at a data center in Oregon, revealing shortcomings in the platform’s failover redundancy systems.

In a post on X, Musk stated, “Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms. I must be super focused on X/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), as we have critical technologies rolling out.”

This move marks a shift from Musk’s recent involvement in political activities, particularly his role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a volunteer initiative aimed at reducing U.S. federal spending. Musk indicated plans to scale back his participation in DOGE to concentrate more on his business ventures, citing the need for focused leadership amid declining Tesla sales and investor concerns.

The recommitment to his companies comes as Musk prepares for the upcoming Starship launch and addresses operational challenges within his enterprises. His decision to resume a hands-on approach underscores the importance of leadership presence during critical technological rollouts and organizational improvements.
