The U.S. Secret Service detained a 23-year-old man who attempted to breach Donald Trump’s private residence in Florida. According to Fox News, the incident occurred late at night near the gates of Mar-a-Lago — the luxurious estate where the current and former president resides.
The suspect, identified as Anthony Thomas Rice, tried to climb over the fence, triggering the security alarms. Secret Service agents responded immediately and apprehended him on the spot. Rice told law enforcement he wanted to “spread the word” to Trump and marry his granddaughter.
According to the police report, this was not Rice’s first attempt: he had previously tried to enter Mar-a-Lago but was stopped. This time, the Secret Service confirmed, the arrest occurred shortly after midnight.
U.S. media report that the man was unarmed but behaved erratically. Authorities are considering a psychiatric evaluation.
