Texas Flash Flood Death Toll Rises to 131, 97 Still Missing

The death toll from devastating flash floods in Texas has climbed to 131, as authorities warn of another incoming storm system that could bring heavy rainfall to already-affected regions.

Rescue teams and local residents continue to search the area surrounding the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, hoping to locate the 97 individuals still listed as missing. Officials urged those in low-lying zones to move to higher ground until the threat of further flooding subsides.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed the updated figures, noting that the number of missing persons has dropped from over 160 as more people have been located in recent days.

Meteorologists are forecasting another wave of intense rainfall across central and southern Texas, heightening concerns of renewed flash flooding in vulnerable communities. Emergency services remain on high alert.

Residents are advised to follow local weather advisories, avoid flooded roads, and stay prepared for sudden evacuations as the situation continues to evolve.
