The MTV Awards ceremony took place in New York. Lady Gaga, who received 12 nominations, won in the categories “Artist of the Year” and “Best Collaboration with Bruno Mars”, breaking her personal record for the number of nominations.
Ariana Grande won “Video of the Year”, Rosé and Bruno Mars with their album APT took home “Song of the Year”, and Sabrina Carpenter was awarded “Album of the Year.”
Alex Warren was recognized as “Best New Artist”, Sombr won in the “Alternative Music” category, while Mariah Carey received an honorary award and performed several of her hits.
The evening concluded with an emotional tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July.
