On the morning of April 11, 2025, a small aircraft crashed near Boca Raton Airport in Florida, resulting in the deaths of all three individuals on board and injuring one person on the ground.
The Cessna 310R departed from Boca Raton Airport at approximately 10:13 a.m., en route to Tallahassee International Airport. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot reported mechanical issues and attempted to return to the airport. Around 10:20 a.m., the plane crashed near North Military Trail and Butts Road, close to Interstate 95. The impact caused a massive fireball, igniting nearby trees and damaging a vehicle. The driver of the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders, including Boca Raton Fire Rescue, quickly arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze and secure the area. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an investigation into the crash. As of now, the identities of the victims have not been released.
The crash led to significant disruptions in the area, including road closures and suspended rail services. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the vicinity as the investigation continues.
