A 40-year-old man in Turkey underwent surgery to remove six unusually large bladder stones, totaling approximately 2 kilograms in weight.
The patient, who has spina bifida and had undergone bladder augmentation with a catheterizable stoma during childhood, was admitted to the hospital due to catheter-related issues. Despite the absence of typical symptoms such as pain, fever, or infection, an ultrasound examination revealed the presence of the stones.​
The stones exhibited distinct geometric shapes, including a cube measuring 7x7x7 cm and pyramid-shaped stones approximately 6x6x6 cm each. A cystolithotomy—a surgical procedure to remove bladder stones—was performed successfully.
The patient was discharged after a 10-day hospital stay, and follow-up examinations showed no recurrence of stones.​
