A development team consisting of Huaibo Zhu, Zyteng Li, Weihan Chen, and Tian Yuan has introduced the Drawor system, which automates the process of marking out construction sites. This high-precision solution replaces the traditional manual method.
The system includes a drone, a compact design robot, and a total station. The drone delivers the equipment to the site, after which the robot independently calibrates itself and begins marking lines without human intervention.
A key feature of this technology is its dynamic dual-track parallel system, which works with prisms on the drone. This eliminates the problem of losing line of sight on cluttered sites while maintaining millimeter-level accuracy.
Using Drawor helps to eliminate layout errors, speeds up the work process, and enhances safety on construction sites. This automation also frees up human resources to handle more complex tasks that require creative input.
The developers emphasize that Drawor is ready for practical use and represents a fully functional solution, not just a concept. This is particularly important for the construction industry, which has long been slow to adopt automation.
