Jaguar Confirms It Has No Plans to Build Cars in the U.S.

British luxury automaker Jaguar has confirmed that it has no intention of establishing manufacturing operations in the United States, despite growing trends among foreign car brands to localize production for the American market.

In a statement made earlier this week, Jaguar clarified that it will continue to manufacture its vehicles in the United Kingdom and other existing global sites. The company emphasized its strategic focus on maintaining a lean, premium production network as it transitions toward an all-electric lineup by 2025.

“Jaguar has no current plans to open a production facility in the U.S.,” a spokesperson said. “Our transformation into a fully electric luxury brand remains rooted in our UK-based heritage and expertise.”

Industry analysts note that while several European and Asian automakers have expanded into U.S.-based manufacturing to avoid tariffs and reduce shipping costs, Jaguar appears to be prioritizing brand exclusivity and operational efficiency over local assembly.

The company is currently undergoing a major overhaul under its Reimagine strategy, which includes rebranding Jaguar as a high-end, electric-only marque with limited volume and higher margins. This positioning, the company suggests, does not require North American production.

Jaguar is owned by Tata Motors, part of India’s Tata Group.
