Tori Spelling Says Her Sex Tape Was Stolen by a Friend

Los Angeles — Tori Spelling has revealed that a private sex tape she filmed with ex-husband Dean McDermott was stolen from their home by someone they once considered a friend.

In the latest episode of her podcast MisSPELLING, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star opened up about the tape, which she said was made on Valentine’s Day at McDermott’s suggestion. “It was Dean’s idea. He came to visit me in New York and said, ‘Let’s film ourselves having sex.’ We had never done it before,” she said.

Spelling admitted she never watched the video and even forgot it existed — until it resurfaced unexpectedly. “It was on Dean’s computer. A friend — or someone we thought was a friend — stayed at our house while we were in Hawaii with the kids. He found it and tried to sell it to Vivid Video.”

The adult entertainment company contacted the couple to inform them of the attempted sale. “They said, ‘We want you to know we didn’t agree to buy the tape.’ And I asked, ‘Why? Was the angle not good?’” she laughed.

Looking back, Spelling said she has very few regrets, but this situation made her reflect. “I don’t believe in regrets, but I do regret turning down Playboy. And as for the tape — I made it with my husband. Maybe I should’ve let it be released.”

Over the years, numerous celebrities have found themselves in similar situations, from Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee to Kim Kardashian, whose leaked tape sparked her media empire.

No legal action has been reported in relation to the stolen footage.
