Watch: ‘Squid Game’ Concludes with High-Stakes Final Season Trailer

Netflix has released the official trailer for the third and final season of its global phenomenon, “Squid Game,” set to premiere on June 27, 2025. Unveiled at the Tudum 2025 event in Los Angeles, the trailer teases a high-stakes conclusion to the dystopian series that captivated audiences worldwide.

The trailer picks up where Season 2 left off, with protagonist Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) re-entering the perilous games after a failed rebellion that resulted in the death of his friend, Jung-bae. Now, Gi-hun faces new and more brutal challenges, including a deadly game of jump rope, as he grapples with guilt and seeks to dismantle the sinister organization behind the games.

Lee Jung-jae reprises his Emmy-winning role as Gi-hun, while Lee Byung-hun returns as the enigmatic Front Man, In-ho. The trailer hints at a climactic confrontation between the two, with In-ho questioning Gi-hun’s faith in humanity. Meanwhile, In-ho’s brother, Jun-ho, continues his covert search for the island, unaware of a traitor in their midst.

Season 3 features a blend of returning and new cast members, including Wi Ha-joon, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-shim, Jo Yu-ri, Lee David, and Roh Jae-won. Notably, T.O.P makes a public comeback after his 2017 departure from BIGBANG, and Park Sung-hoon returns following a previous controversy.

Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, who directs and writes the final season, aims to explore the depths of human nature and the importance of retaining one’s humanity amid cutthroat competition. He promises a more brutal and emotionally intense finale, designed to deliver a powerful message about preserving one’s sense of self in a capitalist society.

“Squid Game” debuted in 2021 and quickly became Netflix’s most-watched show, with over 2 billion hours viewed. Despite criticism for its second season, the series maintained commercial success. The upcoming final season is highly anticipated, with fans eager to see how the story concludes.
