Psychologists have discovered a link between posture and character traits. Scientists at McGill University have found that a person’s habit of standing in a certain way can reveal a lot about their personality. The position of the head and torso is directly related to dominance, empathy, and even a tendency toward manipulative behaviour. This is reported by YourTango.
A person’s inner qualities can manifest themselves in many small ways: from birth order and musical preferences to social habits or even astrology.
A study led by Soren Vanio-Teberga and Jorge Armoni showed that body language can reveal a lot about a person, not only in stressful situations, but also in everyday life. A series of five experiments (four of which were based on photographs of participants in natural poses) involved 608 young people. The results showed that their poses remained relatively stable over time, confirming that basic posture reflects personality traits rather than mood.
