EMMY 2025: THE PITT AND ADOLESCENCE BECOME THE CEREMONY’S BIGGEST WINNERS

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards took place in Los Angeles, marking a landmark night for two projects — the drama series The Pitt and the limited series Adolescence, which shared the evening’s main triumph.

The medical drama The Pitt, created by R. Scott Gemmill, received the award for Best Drama Series. For actor Noah Wyle, well known to viewers from ER, this victory was particularly significant: he won his first Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Another statuette went to Catherine LaNasa, who was recognized as Best Supporting Actress. These accolades established the project as one of the central dramatic stories of the year.

The limited series Adolescence became the leader in terms of total awards, taking home six statuettes — more than any other show in 2025. Among its wins were Best Limited Series, as well as prizes for writing and directing. The acting categories brought additional recognition: Stephen Graham won Best Actor in a Limited Series, while 15-year-old Owen Cooper made history as the youngest male winner in a supporting role in decades. Erin Doherty was honored as Best Supporting Actress. This series emerged as the absolute record-holder of the ceremony.

Other projects were also in the spotlight. Severance brought Britt Lower the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, while Tramell Tillman was recognized as Best Supporting Actor. In the comedy categories, The Studio was named Best Comedy Series, setting a new record for most awards won by a comedy in a single season. Seth Rogen was celebrated as Best Actor in a Comedy Series, while Jean Smart once again confirmed her mastery, receiving a statuette for her performance in Hacks.

The 2025 ceremony was marked by fierce competition. Alongside established hits, audiences discovered new names and unexpected successes. By the end of the night, The Pitt and Adolescence secured their positions as the most significant television projects of the season, while The Studio proved the resilience of comedy. The Emmy Awards once again demonstrated the vitality of television storytelling and its ability to produce works that capture the cultural spirit of the time.
