According to Fox News, the United States has withdrawn approximately 500 troops from Syria in recent weeks as part of President Donald Trump’s policy to scale back American military involvement in the country.
At least one US base has been closed, and another has reportedly been handed over to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
This reduction aligns with the Trump administration’s broader goal of reevaluating US military commitments abroad and focusing on targeted protection of national interests without large-scale troop deployments.
As of now, the Pentagon has not released an official statement regarding the structural changes to American forces in Syria.
