Memorial Day Shooting in Little River Sends 11 to Hospital

On Sunday night, a shooting in the beach town of Little River, South Carolina, resulted in at least 11 people being hospitalized. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near a boat dock along the Intracoastal Waterway.

Emergency services responded promptly, with video footage showing numerous police and ambulance vehicles at the scene. Horry County Police reported that additional victims were arriving at hospitals via private vehicles.

Authorities have not released information about suspects or motives. Approximately 90 minutes after the shooting, police stated that the incident was isolated and that there was no ongoing threat to the community.

Additionally, a North Myrtle Beach police officer accidentally shot himself in the leg while responding to the event and is currently in stable condition at a hospital.

Little River is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
