While autumn brings rain and cool weather to Europe, summer still reigns on the Greek island of Milos, with temperatures staying around +24°C and the sea remaining warm and clear. This ‘island of colours’ in the Aegean Sea is considered one of the most picturesque and peaceful corners of Greece, ideal for a holiday in October.
While autumn is gaining momentum in Europe, summer still reigns on the island of Milos in the Aegean Sea: the air temperature here in October stays at +22…+24°C, and the sea remains comfortable for swimming. This is reported by the Daily Express.
Milos, located just 150 kilometres from Santorini, is called the ‘island of colours’ for its striking variety of landscapes created by volcanic activity. The island has more than 70 beaches, each with its own unique character, from the lunar landscapes of snow-white Sarakiniko to the red cliffs of Paliokhori and the quiet bays of Agia Kiriaki.
Tourists can enjoy the seclusion and authentic atmosphere of the Greek Cyclades, as Milos remains much less crowded than its famous neighbours, Mykonos and Santorini. Here you can stroll through the picturesque fishing villages of Klima and Mandraki with their brightly painted boat houses, visit the ancient Roman theatre and the place where the famous Venus de Milo was found.
In October, Milos offers ideal conditions for a leisurely holiday: sunshine, turquoise sea, fresh seafood and silence broken only by the lapping of the waves.
