Pope Leo hopes that the plan to end the war in Gaza will soon achieve ‘the desired results,’ he said, acknowledging the significant steps taken during negotiations to end the conflict between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas.
Speaking during his weekly Angelus prayer, the pontiff called on all parties involved to support the peace process, stressing the urgent need to end the conflict and establish ‘a just and lasting peace.’
‘In recent hours, against the backdrop of the dramatic situation in the Middle East, some significant steps forward have been taken in the peace talks, which I hope will soon lead to the desired results,’ the Pope told the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square.
