UP TO 90% OF PEOPLE COULD DIE IN A GEOMAGNETIC CATASTROPHE

According to the founder of Space Weather News, the Earth’s magnetic field is rapidly weakening, and an impending pole shift could be fatal for civilization.

Ben Davidson, the founder of Space Weather News and a space weather specialist, stated that humanity is on the verge of a large-scale geomagnetic catastrophe. He claims that a rapid shift of the Earth’s magnetic poles, amplified by a solar “micronova,” could lead to tsunamis, climate chaos, and mass extinction.

The planet’s magnetic field, which acts as a shield against cosmic radiation, has weakened by 15% since the 19th century. The North and South magnetic poles are rapidly moving towards each other in the direction of the Bay of Bengal. Scientists note that the increasing frequency of auroras at low latitudes also signals problems.

Davidson asserts that a cycle of such events repeats every 6,000 years, with more destructive catastrophes occurring once every 12,000 years. He predicts that in the next 10–25 years, humanity could face a devastating scenario: a massive blackout of power grids, GPS navigation failure, disruption of food supplies, and the death of up to 90% of the population.

There have been similar precedents in history. The most powerful geomagnetic storm—the Carrington Event of 1859—caused telegraph system failures and fires on communication lines. If a similar storm were to happen today, experts warn, it could disable modern life support systems.

Scientists note that the accelerating movement of the magnetic poles and the growth of the South Atlantic Anomaly over Brazil indicate instability in the Earth’s core. This increases the planet’s vulnerability to cosmic radiation and intensifies specialists’ concerns.
