What Rubio and Jordan’s Prime Minister Really Agreed On

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks with Jordanian Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Bisher Al-Khasawneh in Washington, D.C. on April 15, 2025. According to a statement released by the U.S. State Department, the discussions focused on regional developments, particularly the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as efforts to enhance bilateral economic cooperation.

Secretary Rubio expressed appreciation for Jordan’s role in promoting regional stability and security. The two sides also discussed increasing American investments in Jordan and supporting Jordan’s economic modernization initiatives.

Prime Minister Al-Khasawneh posted on X (formerly Twitter) following the meeting, highlighting the importance of U.S.-Jordan relations and expressing gratitude for continued American support.

The meeting was part of a series of high-level diplomatic engagements between the United States and key Middle Eastern partners.
