Following the announcement that former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, leading Democratic figures, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama, shared public messages of support.
Harris, who served as Biden’s vice president and was defeated by President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, said she was “saddened” by the news. In a post on X, she wrote:
“Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership.”
Former President Barack Obama also commented on the diagnosis, stating:
“I’m confident Joe will take on this fight with his trademark determination. No one has done more than Joe to push for breakthrough cancer treatments. We’re praying for his swift and full recovery.”
The messages come amid heightened concerns about Biden’s health, following his July withdrawal from the presidential race. He is currently discussing treatment options with his medical team.
