U.S. President Donald Trump said he held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin that lasted an hour and fifteen minutes. According to Trump, the Russian leader made it “very clear” that he intends to respond to the Ukrainian attack.
In addition, Putin proposed that Russia take part in negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. Trump noted that Iran is “stalling” and stressed the need to receive a response within a short timeframe.
In recent days, Ukraine has launched a series of strikes on key Russian military assets. Specifically, drones targeted air bases in Russia’s Murmansk and Irkutsk regions. According to OSINT analysts, the attacks damaged or destroyed around 40 aircraft of various types, including 11 strategic bombers such as the Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, and Tu-160. These strikes are considered the largest assault on Russia’s strategic aviation since the beginning of the war.
