On May 23, 2025, President Donald Trump posted a video on his Truth Social account suggesting he could remain in office “forever.”
The video features a series of campaign signs extending into the distant future, culminating with the phrase “TRUMP 4EVA.”
This is not the first time Trump has shared such content. In June 2019, he posted a similar video during his re-election campaign kickoff, which also suggested an endless presidency.
While the president has previously claimed these posts are made in jest, critics argue that they reflect a troubling disregard for constitutional limits on presidential terms. The U.S. Constitution’s 22nd Amendment clearly states that no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.
Trump’s repeated sharing of such videos has drawn criticism from political opponents and commentators, who view them as attempts to normalize the idea of an indefinite presidency. Supporters, however, often dismiss the posts as humorous trolling aimed at provoking the president’s critics.
