U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated in a Fox News interview that the war in Ukraine is not expected to conclude in the near future.
He emphasized that both Russia and Ukraine are aware of each other’s peace terms, but an agreement remains elusive. Vance described the situation as a “brutal, brutal conflict” and noted that its resolution depends on the two nations involved.
The Vice President’s remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts by the Trump administration to broker a peace deal. Despite these efforts, Vance acknowledged that the conflict remains at a stalemate, with no immediate resolution in sight.
These comments follow the signing of a significant minerals agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine, granting the U.S. access to Ukraine’s mineral resources. While the deal aims to strengthen economic ties, it does not include security guarantees.
