Ukraine hit by one of the largest drone and missile attacks on Kyiv

At least 14 people were injured overnight in what Ukrainian officials are calling one of the largest combined drone and missile assaults on the capital, Kyiv, since the start of the war. The Ukrainian military reported that the Russian offensive involved both long-range drones and ballistic missiles.

According to the Air Force of Ukraine, Russia launched a staggering 250 long-range drones and 14 ballistic missiles toward the country. Air defenses intercepted 245 of the drones and six of the missiles, significantly reducing the potential damage.

Emergency services responded to multiple locations across the capital, treating the wounded and assessing the extent of destruction caused by debris and secondary explosions. No fatalities were immediately reported.

The escalation comes amid ongoing Russian efforts to degrade Ukraine’s air defenses and critical infrastructure ahead of a potential renewed ground offensive. Kyiv, frequently targeted throughout the conflict, has experienced a surge in attacks in recent weeks.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any unexploded ordnance. The situation remains fluid as recovery efforts continue across affected districts.
