On Sunday, April 13, 2025, a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy resulted in the deaths of 31 people, including two children, and injured 84 others, among them ten children.
The attack occurred around 10:15 a.m. local time, as residents gathered to celebrate Palm Sunday. Two ballistic missiles struck the city center, causing significant damage to residential buildings, vehicles, public transportation, and the Sumy State University.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, stating that “dozens” had been killed and wounded, and called for a stronger international stance against Russia.
Emergency services continue to work at the scene, and local authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
