A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck the Aegean Sea on June 2, near the Dodecanese Islands along the maritime border between Greece and Turkey. The tremor was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which confirmed that the quake originated at a depth of 68 kilometers below the Earth’s surface.
Despite its offshore location, the earthquake was felt across the region. Residents in several countries, including Israel, reported light tremors. Citizens in Petah Tikva and Ma’ale Adumim noted subtle shaking, with swinging chandeliers and minor vibrations in buildings.
No casualties or significant damage have been reported so far. Local emergency services are monitoring the situation
