Another fire broke out today at the Shahid Rajaee port in the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, less than two weeks after a major blaze at the same site. According to local media reports, the fire erupted near an oil storage tank and was quickly extinguished by emergency crews.
The incident follows a previous large-scale fire that occurred at the end of April 2025, which caused extensive damage to warehouses and equipment, leading to disruptions in logistics. Iranian authorities attributed that earlier fire to a technical malfunction, although speculation about a potential act of sabotage circulated online.
The Shahid Rajaee port is one of Iran’s most important trade hubs, playing a crucial role in the export of oil and goods through the Persian Gulf. The recurrence of such incidents at this strategic facility raises concerns about infrastructure safety and the effectiveness of preventive measures.
