A major scandal erupted in the Netherlands after nurse Batisma Hayat Said allegedly threatened on social media to kill Jewish patients under her care. In an Instagram chat, she reportedly wrote: “All Zionist Jews can die within the healthcare system — and I’m happy to help by giving them an extra injection.”
The messages were exposed by Israeli activist Max Weiper. The conversation took place between Said and Lital van Steinbergen, an Israeli-Dutch citizen. After Lital commented about the radical Islamization of the Netherlands, Said responded: “Nothing belongs to you! My grandparents built this country. I will do everything I can to help the Netherlands get rid of the Zionist ‘cancer.’”
Lital warned she would contact Said’s employers, but the nurse replied: “Go ahead! I’m self-employed. All Zionist Jews can die — and I’m happy to help.”
Lital and her husband Sebastian filed complaints with the Dutch Nursing Association and the police. Authorities confirmed they are investigating the threats, and the case has been forwarded to a specialized unit. Following the reports, Said deleted her social media accounts and claimed her identity had been stolen. However, investigators are reviewing her previous online posts, which allegedly included more anti-Jewish statements.
Police in the city of Driebergen have since detained Said for questioning. She continues to deny the allegations. Meanwhile, Max Weiper stressed that this is a serious breach of medical ethics: “Imagine your grandparents being treated by someone like her. Such people should never be allowed near patients.”
The case comes just weeks after two healthcare workers in Australia were suspended for making similar threats against Jewish patients.
