A new era has begun for Everton Football Club in Liverpool, as the club’s long-awaited stadium—Bramley-Moore Dock—officially welcomed its first fans. Among the key elements of the modern construction: 1,000 tons of high-quality steel supplied by Ukrainian industrial giant Metinvest, owned by businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
The stadium, located in the heart of Liverpool’s historic docklands, was built using an innovative “no-blockwork” approach. This technique eliminates traditional brickwork by pre-planning every steel component so precisely that structural elements are installed directly without additional masonry—saving time and adding design precision.
Everton had played at Goodison Park for 130 years. With a capacity of 39,000, the historic ground became outdated by modern standards. In 2027, the decision was made to construct a new home for the team. The result: a cutting-edge football venue blending heritage, engineering innovation, and global cooperation.
The Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, a new jewel in Liverpool’s skyline, officially opened to spectators this year, signaling a milestone in the city’s sports and architectural history.
Metinvest’s steel has also been used in the construction of Ukraine’s national stadium—the NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv—underscoring the company’s international role in large-scale sports infrastructure.
