Four Killed in Massive Russian Airstrike on Kyiv

In the early hours of June 6, Russian armed forces launched a large-scale airstrike on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, at least four people were killed in the attack, and around 20 others were injured. Sixteen of the wounded were hospitalized with various degrees of trauma.

The assault involved both Kalibr cruise missiles and suicide drones. Several districts of the city sustained damage from direct hits and the resulting fires. In the Darnytskyi district, drones struck the upper floors of a residential building, sparking a major fire and causing power outages. The Solomianskyi district also reported structural damage to housing. Authorities say rescue efforts are ongoing, and the death toll may rise.

Additionally, one of the missile strikes damaged a Kyiv Metro train traveling between two stations, disrupting underground transit. Hundreds of residents took shelter in metro stations and underground parking lots during the bombardment.

According to Ukrainian military officials, most incoming threats were intercepted by air defense systems. Nevertheless, the attack inflicted significant damage on civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.
