Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi issued a strong statement in response to the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to him, the American actions constitute a grave violation of international law and global treaties.
“The United States, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has severely violated the UN Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) by attacking Iran’s nuclear sites, which serve peaceful purposes,” Araqchi declared.
He emphasized that such actions would have consequences and reminded the international community that the UN Charter grants every nation the right to self-defense. “Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, its interests, and its people,” the minister added.
This statement came just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the American military had struck three major nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Iranian authorities stated that the attacks would not halt their nuclear program, but would instead accelerate it.
The international community continues to react to the escalating crisis. Russia and several European countries have called for immediate de-escalation, while military activity and combat readiness are visibly rising across the region.
