Iranian sources have confirmed that several nuclear facilities were targeted during overnight strikes on June 22. The governor of Isfahan stated that air defense systems were activated in the region and that powerful explosions were heard. Fars News Agency, which is closely affiliated with the Iranian regime, reported: “Air defense systems were engaged in the Qom area, and the nuclear facility in Fordow was attacked.”
In the aftermath of the strikes, officials from the Iranian regime issued strong warnings of retaliation. The official Twitter account of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) posted a direct threat to the United States and Israel, stating: “Now the war truly begins for us.”
Adding to the tensions, a spokesperson for the Houthi movement joined in the threats, declaring in light of the Iranian attack: “Washington will pay the price.”
The situation remains extremely volatile, with Iran signaling it views the attacks as a major escalation. International observers warn that further retaliation could spark a broader conflict in the region.
