New Ceasefire Deal Proposed: 9 Hostages, 18 Bodies, and 60-Day Truce

A new draft proposal has been presented in ongoing indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas. The deal includes the release of 9 living hostages and the return of 18 bodies of deceased captives. The handovers would take place in two phases over the span of one week.

Compared to earlier versions, the current proposal offers one fewer living hostage.

The plan also outlines a 60-day ceasefire intended to facilitate talks on a potential end to the war. If no agreement is reached by the end of the ceasefire, Israel would be allowed to resume military operations. If negotiations progress, the ceasefire could be extended in exchange for the release of additional hostages.

A significant logistical change includes the re-routing of humanitarian aid through United Nations agencies rather than the American company previously managing supply lines.

The proposal also calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from areas captured since the beginning of Operation Iron Sword.

Israeli officials have not issued a formal response to the latest offer. Internal consultations are expected in the coming days.
