Russian Missile Strike Hits Kyiv: Fires and Casualties Reported in Three Districts

KYIV — On the morning of April 6, Kyiv came under a massive missile attack by Russian forces, resulting in fires and destruction across several parts of the city. According to official reports, at least three people were injured.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that the strikes caused fires in the Darnytskyi, Solomianskyi, and Obolonskyi districts. The most serious damage occurred in Darnytskyi, where a non-residential area caught fire. Three civilians were injured and hospitalized, and eight vehicles were reported damaged.

In Obolonskyi, missile debris fell in two separate locations within industrial zones. Emergency crews, including firefighters, paramedics, and police, were dispatched to all affected sites. Another blaze was also reported in Solomianskyi district.

Authorities urged residents to remain in shelters until the air raid alert is officially lifted. Klitschko stressed the importance of following safety instructions and avoiding the publication of images or videos from strike locations during

The missile strike followed a combined overnight attack involving drones and long-range missiles. Several regions across Ukraine, including Mykolaiv, reported explosions and active air defense operations. In Mykolaiv, two residential buildings were hit by drones, causing fires and injuring three women.

Hours later, Russia launched a wave of cruise and ballistic missiles across Ukraine. Nationwide air raid alerts were issued, with explosions reported in multiple regions, including Kyiv and the surrounding oblast. Air defense systems were activated, but several missiles still managed to strike targets.

Emergency Response Ongoing

As of 6:30 a.m., three injuries have been confirmed in Kyiv. Emergency services are continuing to extinguish fires and assess the full extent of the damage. No further threats have been reported at this time.

The April 6 attack marks another escalation in a series of coordinated Russian strikes targeting Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian areas. Ukrainian officials continue to reinforce air defense capabilities amid growing concerns over the intensity and frequency of such attacks.
