Sirens Sound in Haifa as Missile Fired from Yemen Intercepted

Air raid sirens were activated on Friday morning in the Haifa region and parts of northern Israel following a long-range missile launch from Yemen.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the projectile was intercepted by air defense systems before it could enter Israeli airspace. No direct hits were reported.

The missile was launched by Houthi forces, continuing a series of cross-border attacks targeting Israeli territory since the beginning of the regional escalation. Israeli authorities confirmed that the sirens in Haifa, Afula, and several Galilee communities were triggered in accordance with emergency protocols.

Magen David Adom reported one civilian sustained light injuries while seeking shelter.

The United States has conducted multiple airstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen over the past months in response to continued missile and drone attacks against Israel and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
