British security agencies are investigating whether Russia was involved in a string of arson attacks targeting properties linked to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to a report in the Financial Times citing senior government officials.
The probe centers around three separate incidents involving fires at residences and assets connected to Starmer, including his family home in Kentish Town, North London, as well as a vehicle and a former property he once owned.
Authorities have charged two Ukrainian nationals and one Romanian citizen with conspiracy to commit arson. Investigators are now examining whether these individuals may have been recruited or influenced by actors linked to Russia.
Senior officials told the Financial Times that internal discussions are underway regarding how best to respond should evidence confirm Russian state or proxy involvement.
The allegations come amid broader concerns across Europe about Russian hybrid tactics, including cyberattacks, disinformation, and covert operations, aimed at destabilizing Western democracies.
